Pickles and Nora on a Personalized Postage Stamp!

This custom postage stamp picture is of my daughter Nora and Boston Terrier, Pickles.

My husband is a huge comic book enthusiastic, reading pretty much every title that is released by Marvel. My daughter has inherited his love for all things superheroes. The day that this picture was taken my husband and I were helping her pick out her Halloween costume.

At two, this is a big deal to be able to choose what you want to dress up for for Halloween! Well, she was so excited about the possibility of being a superhero herself she simply could not wait until her costume arrived to “fight the bad guys” so I helped her make her own “costume” in the meantime.

I found some old dish towels and crafted a cape for Nora and her trusty sidekick Pickles. They spent what could have been a gloomy rainy day on adventures throughout the house fighting crime.

It is a rare occasion when I can snap a picture and get both of my “babies” in one shot, but at this very moment they decided to take a break from their vigilante justice adventures to rest on the couch. I managed to capture this fraction of a second (they don’t stay still for long, ever) on this special day and put it onto a personal postage stamp that just makes me smile!

I remember my parents crafting costumes for me and encouraging my creativity through imaginative play and pretend.

I’m glad that my husband and I can carry on that tradition with our family with things as simple as dish towel “capes” and wrapping paper tube “swords”, and I’m so glad to capture this moment and brighten someone’s day with a custom stamp commemorating that.
