US Postage Stamp Price for Priority Mail and Express Mail
The US Postage stamp price required by the post office for package rate shipping methods change frequently and the trend has been moving up to it's current heights (see below).
The US Postal Service offers countless varieties of package mailing services but the main two flat rate envelope services are Priority Mail and Priority Express Mail.
US Postage Stamp Price Package Rates
Express Mail............................................$19.99 & up
Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope.........................$5.60
as of the USPS increase enacted on January 27, 2014
Each of these flat rate mail services have stamps issued regularly. The fact that they are for high prices, especially the express mail stamps, means that they aren't frequently used and it is relatively difficult for a stamp collector to find a used example of these modern express and priority mail stamps.
The good news is that they are also not in high demand so you can pretty easily put together a collection of used modern high value stamps with a bit of patience at a very low cost.
The opposite is increasingly true of mint or unused stamps. The face values go up each year, much as with the Cost of US Postage Rates.
With the USPS financial woes of late, I expect they will use the full maximum allowance for price increases and lobby Congress for even larger increases.
In addition to current rates, if you want to Save Money on your Postage Stamp Cost by buying discounted postage, you may need to know the Non-denominated Postage Stamp Values to know, for example, what is the face value of the stamp issued as an "E" rate.
But keep an eye out for stamps that are worth more than their face value and could be sold for a profit. Postage Stamp Prices for modern stamps can be looked up in a stamp catalog to get a pretty quick sense of value.
Of course, if you are not interested in values of these modern stamps and are more interested in Stamp Collecting Values or an individual Old Postage Stamp Value then check out the rest of this site which is rich with Stamp Collecting information.
